Which items are GST-free?
Equipment made for people with an illness or disability, and not widely used by anyone else. That covers wheelchairs, walking frames, commodes, shower stools, transfer aids and their parts. These items are listed in Schedule 3 of the GST Act, and they stay GST-free when you resell them.
Which items carry GST?
Anything ordinarily used by people without an illness or disability, however useful it is. In our range that means some kitchen and grooming aids, general household items and consumables. It’s the product that decides, not who buys it or how it’s used.
How can I tell on the site?
Every price is ex GST, on the site and on invoices. In the catalogue each price is marked GST free or + GST, and at checkout GST is itemised only on the lines that carry it.
Who decides how an item is classed?
We do, from our accounting records, and we check the site against them, so what you see is what’s on your invoice. If something looks wrong, tell us and we’ll correct it. This is how we treat our own products, not tax advice. For your own sales, ask your accountant or the ATO.
