GENERAL CARE & USE

Before use, always check to ensure product is in good working condition. Be sure your weight is within the weight capacity of the unit and the product is suitable for your needs and abilities. If you are uncertain, seek the advice of a suitably trained therapist or carer.

  • Canes are adjustable to suit height.
  • Loosen tension screw slightly, push the button down to release and slide up or down to adjust length, tighten the tension screw
  • Some canes come with an attached strap
  • Tips can be removed (replacement parts available)
  • When using a cane, hold it in the hand opposite of the leg that needs support
  • Always consult your physical therapist for correct size / height and use

Generally, the cane should come to the level of the hip bone on the side of your upper thigh. Another measure is to stand with the cane at your side - the top of the cane should be at the level of the wrist when your arm is hanging comfortably at your side.

Warning:

Care must be taken to ensure stability
Avoid tilting or leaning over too far.
Do not use on loose gravel, uneven surfaces, large cracks or fissures

 

MAINTENANCE & CLEANING

Important: 

Check condition regularly for wear and tear
Do not use if product shows signs of damage, corrosion or rust
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or solvents

  • Clean using a slightly damp cloth and wipe dry.
  • To prevent rust / corrosion - Do not submerge the product in water and make sure to dry product completely before storing.
  • Silicon based spray lubricants will assist in water / moisture displacement and protect from corrosion
  • Store in a dry place and away from direct sunlight
